Centipede

Centipedes are venomous worm-like arachnids withs a lot of legs. A tiny beast.

It can detect nearby movement and walk on any surface, even upside down. It can’t see well.

Attacks (1/round)

Bite. The centipede makes a melee attack. On a hit, the target must save against poison or be poisoned and take 1 point of Strength damage.



Centipede Swarm

It can detect nearby movement and walk on any surface, even upside down.. It can’t see well.

In a swarm, creatures are immune to being grappled or attacked by single target spells, and resist mind and weapon damage. However, they take double damage from area of effect attacks.

Attacks (1/round)

Bites. To dodge a swarm’s attack, the roll has to beat 10 + the swarm’s HP. On a hit, the target takes 1 damage and must save or be poisoned.

Centipede Venom. In Wound: Save or be poisoned, save again each day to cure. Lose 1D4 points of Fortitude.



Giant Centipede

Move: normal, climb normal  

It can detect nearby movement and walk on any surface, even upside down.. It can’t see well.

Bite. The centipede makes a melee attack (1D4). On a hit, the target must save or be poisoned with centipede venom (see above).




Random Encounter
  1. Monster: 1D4 centipede swarms or 1D8 giant centipedes.
  2. Lair: A narrow, damp crack in the ground.
      OR
    Omen: The sound of overturned earth.
  3. Spoor: Paralyzed body, a centipede crawling out of its mouth.
  4. Tracks: Dampness.
  5. Trace: A single centipede (or giant centipede).
  6. Trace: A dead rodent.
Salvaging the body

Centipedes are a delicacy in certain circles; you need as many giant centipedes as there are players to make a day’s ration. Collecting their venom is also a possibility.
